i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.

I just pulled a trigger on S26 Ultra with trade-in of Motorola g 5g 2025. The total is $1423 (not including $705 trade-in value) and hopefully everything goes smoothly.

Is this for trading in at the store too?
It depends on your state, some states tax the full price and others will only get taxed on price after $700 discount.

Hey everyone, I know my questioned have probably been answered at various points in this thread, but I am still confused.

I am new to spectrum (about 2 months) and really want to jump on this deal to upgrade for my kids and I on all 4 lines.

I am very wary of Assurant assessing phones for things that I have no real way of disputing (water damage for example) I see no sign of it, but if I lose $700 that would majorly suck.

Can anyone guide me here:

1) What happens if I do not agree with Assurant's assessment? will I be able to return the new phone even though I have activated and used it? or will I be stuck, or have to pay a restocking fee?

2) Does anyone know what the deal for this phone will be instore on launch day? I do not want to have to rick Assurant finding something concealed or whatever and being out this kind of money.

I know this sounds paranoid, but I see such horrible reviews on Assurant's trade in process....

I can help answer these since I have a good amount of experience with spectrum deals.
1. You won't be able to return the phones since you'll be way passed the return period by the time Assurant inspect your trade in.
2. You have 4lines, I believe there's a limit of 1 or 2 for pre order. It's best to do in store since they'll inspect trade in phone on the spot and give you credit immediately and you won't get tax on the trade in portion depending on which states you're in.
Hope it helps

Thanks for the info. Is there any confidence on how the offers will look on launch day instore? I much prefer instore, but this is a preorder thing that is allowing me to get these phones.

Also, my son just told me his wifi module doesnt work, will this eliminate trade-in value?

Online preorder gives storage upgrade for free on plus and ultra model, if you don't care for those then in store is probably best. In-store trade in is different than what they used to do, now they still check the device and do some scanning with QR code. I doubt they check wifi module. They mostly care for device isn't stolen, screen with no crack and is on their device trade in lists.

And historically, spectrum still runs the 700 trade in after the pre order promotion ends. So you should be fine .

We could trade in s25 series towards s25 series last year, making s25 ultra free after several rounds. Even s24 can do free trade up to s25.

They already released the S26 series trade in values and it doesn't really pencil out this year unfortunately. You can get them pretty cheap but you can't make as much money this year. Tax in California pretty much kills the profits.

That's the 64G version so not on the list. The Moto G allowed to be traded in has to be the 128G version, though I am not sure if it really matters. I would not take chances given it is $700 promo or nothing.

Strange. The Moto G Power 5G 2024 isn't on the list.
