i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.

I don't think that's what "unlocked" means in the context of their FAQ. If you click on the link for "unlocked from previous carrier" it takes you to a page for porting in a number from your previous carrier. My two cents - most places give two sh*ts about you trading in a phone that's still "locked" to a carrier. I think in that FAQ it's clearly talking about "make sure you have your account # and PIN" for your number and it's "unlocked" so it can be ported to Spectrum. But.... that's just my two cents.
Has that unlocked statement been there last couple of years? If it has been there a long time ago, then "unlocked" means like what you said, but if they just add that statement recently, then " unlocked" means the phone can be used with any carrier, then I am screwed.

It was seamless, just had to call in and request it. I would recommend to refund to a different card you have on file so you don't lose your points/cashback if you paid with a credit card.
The online reps stated the $700 (plus trade-in credit) can't be refunded but to be consumed within 36 months even you pay the phone in full when you place the pre-order (because it shows "Any promotional credits offered will be reflected over 36 mos. on the bill statement." although other reps said this sentense is for finance plan instead of for paying the phone in full and their web shows "Should You pay for Your new device in full, Spectrum Mobile will apply Your Credit to Your account within the next two billing cycles." at https://www.spectrum.com/policies...e-in-terms) Then this doesn't mean "$700 off" as shown at their website. Not sure if you can request the $700+ back to you.

Pulled the trigger.. Have internet and going with S26 Ultra (512GB). Trading a old Moto G Pure $5 (Total Trade in $705). Opted to a new number and it's basically a free line. The plan is to decide after getting the device unlocked. Based on the FAQs, the trade credit hit no longer than 2 billing cycles for FULL pay. I'm OK with tax debate between online vs instore difference, I just want to limit my research and also don't want to lose the double storage offer. Let's see how it goes. BTW, planning to sell my S24 Ultra for about $440.. So, overall not bad.

Why do I not see the $200 discount when checking out?
Price is 899.99 for Samsung Galaxy S26,Black, 256GB with eSIM

Nevermind, guess it's because I'm an existing internet customer.

Does the $200 off and $700 trade-in offer not work at the same time? The s26 is $699 before adding to the cart, and when in the cart it becomes full price.

I just called in to ask whether I can send in a locked phone for my trade-in order, they said NO. The phone needs to be unlocked (work with any carrier), otherwise no $705 discount credit. They gave me a chance to cancel my order, but I haven't done yet.

Today I called Spectrum 2 times and chat with them 1 time, they confirmed with me consistently that the trade-in phone must be unlocked. They confirmed me that "unlocked" means it can be used with any carrier. So they are serious and no joke this time. One agent told me that if trade-in phone is not unlocked, then no credit for $705 promotional discount. They also offered me to cancel the order.

Are you on crack or something? Motorola g 5g 2025 with 64gb is on the list.
It's on the list but when I sign in to check out, it tells me that my device is not eligible for trade in.

Spectrum's FAQ for what qualifies for a trade-in device, does not list the phone being unlocked as a requirement. I traded in a straight talk locked phone that I bought from Walmart, and had no issues last year.

In the Spectrum Mobile Trade-in Program FAQs section,
https://www.spectrum.net/support/...ogram-faqs
under the 1st question, "Do I have to remove my information from my old device?" It showed:
"Make sure that your phone has been unlocked from its previous carrier."

I just cancelled my order successfully through chat. Too risky. I am done.
