i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.
Last year, I opened up 2 lines in store. Then tried to open 1 more line in store a week later and got blocked. Each line only had 1 trade-in. So YMMV. It was my first year doing trades as well.
I also opened up two lines in the store and tried to trade in those phones at the store again, but it failed. So I gave up on doing the trade-in at the store and completed it online instead, and there were no issues. However, this year's T&C clearly states that "One trade-in promotional offer is available per line," so it seems that last year's method will no longer work.
Based on my experience and the comments in this thread, Spectrum agents are clueless and unhelpful.
I placed an order on the 5th for the Blue Ultra. My card was declined in case it was fraudulent. I contacted an agent via chat and asked if they could charge my card again or if I needed to place a new order. They implied it was taken care of. This morning my card still hadn't been charged, so I talked to another agent. They said my order was still processing and I didn't need to do anything. A few hours later, I got an email saying my order was cancelled. I went to place it again, and the Blue was out of stock. So I got another agent in chat and told them the situation. They said my order was still good. I told them I literally got an email saying it was cancelled, and they backtracked and said it was cancelled. Then while I was typing a response they ended the chat without any resolution.
The black is still in stock, but after this nonsense I'm wondering if this is some sort of sign not to buy the phone.

Also, their website is terrible: times out constantly, or just throws vague errors. Seems to have a tantrum when you click through for commission credits also. And logging into an existing account can make things worse, because of their split between home internet service and mobile. Total mess.
It's really hard to find context on conversations. I wish slickdeals copied reddit comment section style which is way more coherent.
Info can definitely get buried in long threads or with complicated deals. Sometimes members are kind enough to collaborate on the wiki post just below the original post in a thread. With these tricky mobile phone threads I'm especially grateful when that happens.
Lots to read here, but after doing my best, question still: if this lasts past release date to do it in-store, and if we don't want to use the Spectrum phone plan, then the accurate way to total up this deal is actually whatever price we end up paying after rebates/promotions, plus $60 because we are required to activate with Spectrum, then only after two months (three billings at $20) we can unlock the phone and then disconnect without penalty? For most of us gunning for the Ultra, this makes it pretty close to the $500 Best Buy pricing, then...
how are you getting it at best buy for $500?
best buy does not have the $700 bonus trade-in.
I am trying to:
Sign up as a new internet customer
get 1 line S26 Ultra, free double the storage.
get 2 lines of S26 base for free, by being a new internet customer and extra $200 with port in.
CS at the store told me that's not possible. Basically they can only do New internet with S26 Ultra, or new internet with 2 lines of S26.
Is this correct?

Yes, because it is 1, 2, or 4. You can do 2 lines of S26, then create an online account. Log in and you can do the 3rd line (free) for S26 Ultra.

Except they also told me I cannot do New Internet + S26 Ultra, then come to the store after release date to add 2 lines of S26 base with the $200 off (new internet customer) with port in.
basically I am only willing to gamble with the mail in trade-in for 1 line of S26 Ultra.
The rest I rather do it in store, where I know for sure I get $700 off instantly.
I do not mind doing 4 lines.
Is there any way to order New internet + S26 Ultra, then add the remaining 2 or 3 lines in the store after release date March 11?
I feel like they need to submit the new internet and mobile line orders together, for the extra $200 off to show up on the S26 base.

Any one know of cheap devices i could use for trade in. Looks like spectrum is not accepting cheap moto devices for trade in as last year
I would like to know this as well and also it sounds like they're saying that you have to keep it for the 36 months is that correct or when would it be eligible to be unlocked and you can drop the service?

$30 Straight Talk Motorola G 5G 2025 from Walmart. For unlock, need to be at least 60 days in the Spectrum network and phone must already be paid in full.

No. This is for everyone. The way they are doing this by giving you a free memory upgrade.
EVERYONE gets "$200 off" in the form of double the storage for S26+ and S26 Ultra.
