i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.
I went to a store when it opened. The rep said they don't have it and I have to order online. I accepted it and left but now I'm wondering whether she knew it releases today, or if she's just stuck in that answer she's been saying the last 2 weeks when a customer asks for it.
Went to the store as well, but they said they dont have them in yet. Apparently shipment is random and i would just have to check back in person periodically or advised me to order online.
There is some resale value but not worth the hassle anymore for me.
This is how I feel. I traded in for a S26U for me and was going to get another S26 to sell, but the needing to be a new internet customer is a real pain. This is my first time as a mobile customer, was hoping they would have deals for new mobile only.
Took 30 minutes but I successfully got an S26 for $268 by trading in an old busted screen iPhone 11. California so had to pay the full tax amount before getting the $705 credit. Feels like my account is messed up my credit card shows a $268 charge and then right after a $268 credit. My spectrum account shows a balance of $268 and my next payment due is $29.99. Everytime I go into the spectrum store they screw something up.

I went in store earlier. Traded in the moto g 2025 from Walmart and got the S26 for $211 total. Had no issues doing it at all.
I might have to do that this weekend, the store is like 45min away 😂 I bought a second Moto G just for that purpose, and $211 OTD for the S26 is solid.

Oh wow. Last year, I went to a store to do a trade in and tax was on after trade-in value. This was in CA as well.

What store/state? Doesn't sound like you got hit with the CA sales tax... And was that porting in vs new number, with or without the new internet $200 discount, etc.?
Can you please share the link of moto g 2025 from Walmart. Is it locked phone?
It's just the Straight Talk Motorola Moto G 5G 64GB. It's $30. It says it's locked, but the rep didn't even ask if it was. He looked over it and did some weird thing with a mirror and had no problem.
If I sign up for new internet and 2 lines with S26+, would that be $400 off each phone?
The bad about this $400 for new customer is to sign up for the device payment plan. I think once you have signed up for the device payment plan, you will receive the promotional credit spreader across 36 months.
Here is what I am going to do with activation of the new phone:
After they receive my trade-in phone, they will send me an email in a few days whether they approve my old phone or not. At this point I think I can safely activate my new phone if approval, otherwise I call spectrum to prepare to return my new phone immediately to satisfy the 14 days return window and to get a full refund because I am not going to hold on to the new phone that I have paid for the full retail price without $700 credit. That's way too expensive. FYI: $50 fee if the phone is opened, otherwise no charge. Others did this in the past successfully. There is no guarantee that you will receive your old phone back when returning the new phone.
They will send back your old (trade in) no matter of you keeping or returning the S26 phone.
So. I went to my Spectrum store and they told me they haven't received the Galaxy S26 and won't get it until next Wednesday. Has anyone ran into this issue?
Edit: I'm in Reno, NV

I'm in South Texas so I was only charged $16.09 in taxes. I had a free unlimited line that I ported in. I'm already an internet customer. So I only got the $700 from the deal plus the $5 for the phone itself. Activation fee was also waived.
