i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.
The store rep told me the process changed this year — no more instant trade‑in discount in‑store. You now have to pay full price upfront, and the credit appears later on your account.
When I asked if those credits could be withdraw, he said they can only be used for Spectrum services.
Has anyone actually managed to withdraw the credits this year, or did the new rules really cancel the instant discount — or was I just unlucky with the rep?
I paid $284 with tax of original price here in CA yesterday. So, got instant credit.
Yes but it's 1 discount per account now. I tried adding a new line the $700 discount disappears at checkout. I think after all these years they finally figured out what everyone was doing and turned it off.

If I am in that case, I may try with a different store with a different rep.
Some reps say differently.

Next time give him a middle finger.😀 Nothing changes on the instant credit in-store trade-in. A few people already confirmed here that they got instant credit for in-store trade-in when they paid in full.
So I'm guessing you had bought this phone on Straight Talk and had been using it on a plan before?
Because if you buy a new one from Walmart, it's already factory reset, but you can't advance through the setup without activating plan on sim. If I take the sim card out, then I can connect to wifi, but right after it still asks for esim activation and won't let you get past that.
Any one else?
So what I did was, bought the moto g 5g 2025 straight talk phone from walmart and I actually used it for a few days, but it never asked me to activate any sim or esim. I factory reset a day before my appointment, I don't think I even connected it to wifi this time and went through the whole setup and skipped pretty much everything you can skip and it took me to the main screen. Took it in like that and worked fine.
Nope, that is false. When others tried with a different IMEI than the S26 IMEI, then $700 showed up. The problem is you can't trade in the same device that you just traded in on the same day. Wait for 24 hours and try again.
no way it's 1 per account.
I think you mean 1 discount per LINE.
one account can have several LINES.
I just did 2 new lines and both show $700 off.
It's definitely not 1 $700 discount per account I was wrong for sure. All I know is the S26 I got in store won't give me the $700 discount. At checkout it disappears but my S25+ the discount remains.
Can someone confirm if the price for the base S26 is $899 or $699, if you are an existing Spectrum Internet customer but not a Spectrum Mobile customer?
I think it's $899, which with the $700 trade-in promo would make the out the door price about $200 (plus taxes and fees). Just want to confirm if that's correct before I head over to a store.

I paid $270ish and it was $899 before the trade-in promo. The extra $200 off is for new internet subscribers with 2 new lines.
If anyone was able to do a trade in in store in NY, could you please let us know if tax was charged on the full retail price? Was not in July on Flip 7 trade for me but these are different times. Thanks!
