i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.
That is a broad question that depends on several variables like condition and whether you have any additional use for it and would consider selling it elsewhere. Probably easiest just to trade in the S23+. You might be able to make a bit more selling it elsewhere and doing the cheap Motorola but might not be worth the extra time/risk.
If you want to keep the S23+ as a backup phone then might be worth the extra cost of doing the cheap Motorola especially if the S23+ is unlocked. But if you are just going to let the S23+ sit around depreciating and have no use for it then probably makes more sense to get rid of it.
I have question. Right I am waiting for $705 credit to my account and today I already received the approval email from Assurant for my trade-in device. Can I go ahead to trade-in again online or in-store while waiting for the credit to my account? I wonder will the new trade-in cause any conflict?
To compare to last year, the price I paid for the base s25 was $97.97 including tax. I traded in a moto G that I paid $30 for but harvested the tracfone minutes so didn't consider that part of the expense. Even if you include it the price of the moto g the total was $130. This year it will cost $250-310 depending on tax in NY. So $120-$180 more. I will give this one more try. Has anyone tried a s26 IMEI recently bought on a spectrum account on a different separate unrelated Spectrum account to see if the $700 plus upgrade would work on an s26+ or Ultra? It's clear you can not do it on the same account unlike other years. Reddit seems to think this will work but no one has specifically tried this. Thanks
Plus $80 more ($20 fee + $60/3 months) if you use an additional new line. It is getting ridiculous expensive.
Received mail as well around 8:18. Phone delivered to them on March 12.
Mine was delivered on the same day, but there have been no updates since. I'm so anxious. I ordered on the 4th, and I will request a return on the 18th if there are still no updates by then.
Was your order not approved? Did you get information about doing the trade-in? They usually approve orders within 24-hours and ship using overnight. You should get the trade-in information after the order is approved. If they needed additional verification from you in order to process the order you should have received an e-mail.
I already got the trade-in email, which is why i am paranoid. I also got the email that they could not charge my card and to provide alternate card. I have done so.
My fear is that in the midst of all these something might have gone wrong.
Of course I contacted Spectrum (over 10 times), of course they did not provide any solution other than telling me to wait.

Have you mailed in your trade-in device? If you have, then nothing much for you to do because I think if you cancel your order then Assurant will still keep the device but you lose the $700. I would have to confirm in the terms but I think you still get the credit amount of the device but no promotion.
If you have not mailed in your device then you probably should consider cancelling your order because you only have 30 days to get your device to Assurant. I am not sure how many days you have left but you only have 30 days from when they send you the trade-in request. If they do not get your device in time then you could also lose the $700 credit. You would end up in the same situation as above but also have to return the device you received unless you want to keep it without the $700 promotional credit.
You might be able to have customer service make you some exception to the rules but as a warning they can be notoriously unreliable at keeping their word. One agent could tell you something and then the next one deny or or pretend like they have no clue what you are talking about.

In hindsight, the move would have been to get the Pixel 9 Pro deal on all my lines then get the S26 on them. It's one S26 promotion per line, but you can do different promotions on the line.
My trade-in device arrived earlier today at the destination. The spectrum/assurant trade-in portal isn't updating of course lol. I used the UPS QR code method
just open a new by the gig 2nd line, which comes out to $20/month. Once you get the 2nd phone that day, port out the number the next day and done.
what are some good places to port them to without having to pay a lot for the new carrier? what's the reason for porting out vs just telling spectrum to cancel the line after the 1st month?
I think porting out the next day, Spectrum will still charge you the $20 for the full month, even though you've only used 1 day.

Assurant system can only detect USPS tracking. With UPS QR it doesn't change until it is processed. Crazy that they have never had their IT team fix this for years.
If i purchase s26+ on device payment finance plan, would the trade in be also monthly credits and not a one time. Atleast store rep mentioned $700 will be split into 36 months.
Last year it costed me $97 total for trade-in $30 cheap Motorola g play phone to get S25 compared to this year it will cost me $270 for S26 and not including $80 for a new line and $30 for trade-in phone. That is like around $400 total after getting it unlocked. That is not good at all. I pass this year. Anyway I did get S26 Ultra 512gb for a good trade-in value.
