i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.
In and out of the store (Durham, NC) in 20min, the rep was very knowledgeable, no drama. I'm a long time Spectrum internet customer, so I had an offer for a free line for 1 year. Trade in an old S20FE that I literally found in the e-waste bin at my office, $705 credit. Only bad thing was state tax was over the full price. For the love of God don't go to a Spectrum store without an appointment.
I checked in the store today.
Rep said I need to add 2 lines and at least 1 has to be a port in. Did not actually try it though.
Could be different for other accounts as the employee mentioned a promo number.
And do the phones need to be financed to get the extra $400 off?

I asked the rep and she said they can be paid off.
As I did not have the port information, I didn't try it.
The rep that helped me was nice but wasn't sure as she was checking everything with the rep next to her.

I am waiting for someone who is willing to take the risk of doing 36 months financing for $400 off then try to pay it off early and still get the full credit
Went to local store to trade my new S26 to iPhone 17e, but after all diagnostics, the guy gives me a reduced trade in value of $400 including promo. When I told him that seemed incorrect and that he did not add the $200 extra credit for iPhone 17e, he tells me store is out of 17e and to check with a different store. Damn, gave me metropcs impression
By the way, any thoughts on "upgrading" S26 to iPhone 17e? I might have to add about a max of $50 to the trade. Is it worth it?

You cannot trade in Spectrum S26 at Spectrum and get promo credit.

Only problem is even the trade in credit will be split into 36 months if we do financing which is pain point and a bigggggg trap.

I did it last year unintentionally when the rep did financing, even though I told him pay in full. I paid off the full amount online and got the remaining credit right away. Then called in and got it back on my credit card.

That's like half the truth. Spectrum no longer allows trading s26 vs s26 series for additional $700 credit, but you can always trade s26 vs any other promo, or trade S26 vs any other S26 without the extra $700 promo.
In my case, I initially traded my old S25 with S26, for a total value of $893, hence paid $6+tax on full msrp, as an upgrade on the only line in my account. Now If i want to trade S26 vs another S26, I can do that but I won't get a second $700 credit. But, I can trade the s26 vs Pixel or iphones to get the trade-in values + related promo credits.
iphone 17e trade provides full trade in value + $200 credit, so my S26 fetches me about $630 ($430 for Se26 + $200 credit). All in all, S26 to iphone 17e requires an additional ~ $20 including taxes.
I'm just not sure if trading S26 to iphone 17e is a wise choice.

yes, I bought two s26 base first visit at the same time: by opening up a 2nd $20/by the gig line and using my free 1 year line
Trading in the moto 2025 walmart phone for both, getting $705 credit each. Paid in full so I'll unlock them in 2 months.
