i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.
Join Metro or add a line on a current plan starting at $50/month with AutoPay ($55 for your first month).Pay $99.99 for your iPhone 16e (128GB) at purchase with an instant discount (plus applicable taxes).Keep your plan active for 3 months, then receive a $100 virtual prepaid Mastercard. You can get this deal on up to 2 lines.Math doesn't add up. You need 3 months according to the site.
No, that is only if you want to get the $100 virtual prepaid Mastercard. You can just opt to not pay past the first month and then either wait a year for it to unlock or trade it in for something else for another deal like this current one.
Agree, I am done after this year in terms of flipping if this is how things are going to be now. Just too many variables have become unfavorable. None of the third-party selling was even necessary in previous years as most people were just trading the devices back in with Spectrum (since you could do trade-in like S25 to S25).
Also, agree
Last year was in PIA, especially when buying the flip 7 + z fold 7. just buying a S26 U and selling my S25 U. thats it
When people get shocked why trade in deals get nerfed or nuked just see why in this thread lol
Yeah the people that were trading in s25s for s25s and profiting directly was probably the biggest issue. I also profited so I'm no saint but I agree they probably don't like it. I do think the store employees are also probably annoyed because they depend on some of these phones to make sales on new lines/customers.
After 2 months, get them unlocked and this will increase the value $100-$200 easily.
That's my plan. I currently have two s26 now, plan on getting 2 more today.
I doubt you could sell for more than $500 locally especially since it's open. You could sell it for more online but you would end up making around the same after fees. Still you could make around a $200 profit per phone if you are able to close your extra lines and use the free line to unlock them.

Mine was delivered last Wednesday, but I still haven't received an email saying they have inspected my phone and that a $705 credit will be granted. Has anyone had a similar experience?

I do not think monetarily it makes any difference to them if people were trading in S25 for S25 or a different phone for S25 since the same promotional credit applies. Plus Spectrum still loses the same amount of S25 inventory and Assurant is the one who is paying for the trade-ins. Assurant profits off people trading in their used phones with them because they pay below-market prices for trade-ins and they have agreements with companies like Spectrum to unlock the devices (even if you trade-in a locked device).
I think the biggest issue they probably had was people coming in-store and trading in S25 for S25+ for S25 Ultra. Instead of just going straight for S25+/Ultra a significant number of people were flipping up and the store employees probably had difficulty making up an excuse to say no since people were technically trading in for different device. They usually did not have an issue saying no to the S25 base to S25 base.

OMG. I exchanged S26U for S26+ in-store. I got $200 refund but was charged $16.5 in tax. Only got $183.5 back. I asked why I got charged tax on refund and they were clueless. This is so WILD!!!

Did it interfere with your trade-in credit from your original purchase? I thought you lose your trade-in credit if you do a return/exchange of the original device.

My guess is you will get notified by tomorrow based on how long mine took unless they have gotten behind. Usually notices get sent out in the morning and the credit appeared on my Spectrum account 2 days later. Still waiting for my refund to actually get processed.

Anyone noticed trade-in device sent to Flower Mound, TX instead of Lewisville, TX by UPS? I just dropped off in UPS and the address printed on it shows differently than previous shipments. I am thinking UPS processed incorrectly.
My trade-in was delivered last Monday, and I just saw an email that it has been inspected and pass so will get 705 credit. Waiting for the credit to show up in my Spectrum account.
I got an idea to test out. Anyone in the Sacramento area who has traded in for some s26s, and still has them, please send me a private message on slickdeals. I'd like to test an IMEI swap; I'll give you an IMEI from one of my s26s my account, and you give me yours, then we can see if the $700 sticks at check out when attempting to upgrade to the s26 ultra. This would prove if it's account bound for the IMEI or if the ULTRA is blocking ALL s26 trade-ins.
If this works, We can both go to spectrum and trade in each other's s26 phones for the ultra if that's what you would like to do.
Send me a message! If ur not in Sacramento but would still like to send me your IMEI for testing purposes, hit me up.

Got Spectrum email yesterday stating my trade-in was accepted and approved. Their warehouse received my phone last Monday, the 16th. I traded in a locked StraighTalk Galaxy A16 5G, for anyone wondering. Will see how long it takes for the credits to post on my Spectrum account.

yes, I bought two s26 base first visit at the same time: by opening up a 2nd $20/by the gig line and using my free 1 year line
Trading in the moto 2025 walmart phone for both, getting $705 credit each. Paid in full so I'll unlock them in 2 months.
