i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.

i just did some testing, and $200 discount shows up on s26 plus and 26 ultra , but not on the s26 base.

Today I got S26 for $213 after tax with Motorola G 5G 2025 trade-in in the existing free line. So far I got 2 S26 & 1 S26 Ultra for this existing free line.

No, I traded in online Moto g 2025 for S26 Ultra 512gb last month, then trade-in online again for S26. Today I traded in in-store Moto g 2025 for S26 and all for same existing free line. So the term 1 $700 promotion per line didn't apply at all. I also got 2 S26 on 2 separate new lines in-store traded-in last week. Overall I got 4 S26 and 1 S26 Ultra. I want to do one more time with S26, then I am done. I will probably do it online again because I am tired of traveling through many stores. Trade-in in-store is great with no risk, but we have to deal with unexpected denial and out of stock. Online trade-in cost more and involving risk, but you don't deal with traveling to each stores.

Port out to Metro is pain because the fricken Metro order network normally denied me nowadays. I used VPN and all kind of things, but still got denial of ordering a new phone.

You could trade in another cheap phone for S26+ and then sell the S26 once it is unlocked. But if you do not want to mess with selling then I guess you can get a year of use out of the S26 and then next year plan to trade it in for S27+. Assuming that next year they do not allow trade-in of S27 line for another S27 and we are stuck in situation like this year going forward.

Yes, for free line. It's not that they waive activation fee if you purchase online. Activation fee is waved because it is a free line.
