i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.

So mad at Spectrum right now. once I get these phone swaps done, I am going to leave them for someone else until next year.

Bought a S26+ on preorder to get the double memory. Fedex destroyed it during transit and redirected it back to Spectrum. After 3 weeks I finally called Spectrum and they were like "Oh woops here's a refund and cancelled the order".

And now they are refusing to give me the memory upgrade. They are telling me to apy an extra $200 for their carriers destruction of my phone. Spent hours on the phone, escelated to corporate etc. Everyone has apparently decided $200 is worth more than a 5 year customer spending $250 a month. Meanwhile new fiber in the neighborhood offering me 5/5 gig symmetrical for $50 a month for 3 years vs the 110 I pay for 1/1 with Spectrum. Ridiculous.

Yeah that's pretty scummy. Wouldn't blame you if you now make it your life's mission to convert people away from spectrum.

I traded in two A15s, but the values were different: $5 and $1. I was confused, but since I was in a hurry and the difference wasn't that large, I didn't press the issue. It is interesting, though; I don't believe the salesperson could have modified the trade-in value himself, as it's a systematic process and there would be no legitimate reason for him to change it.

Yes, it is the same as the one from Walmart, but more storage and Unlocked. Why the heck you buy this phone from Best Buy for $169+ for trade-in? Buy this phone from Walmart for $30 to do trade-in. I already traded in 6 times successfully using this phone from Walmart. It is not unlocked phone with 64gb storage, but it will work with trade-in online or in-store. You will be fine with this $30 phone from Walmart:

If you buy this phone for $169 for your parents without trade-in, I would rather buy unlocked Motorola Edge 2024/2025 or Edge+ 2022/2023 from eBay and those phones will blow away Moto g 5g 2025. FYI: This Moto G phone is slow like a turtle.

Thank you! I will get this one from WM, actually gonna buy 2 to do trade ins on both of their lines. I will charge it, set it up, remove sim and go to trade in. Anything else I need to do? Gonna trade for S26+ for them, Ultra seems too big for them. Thx again for helping me out.

Didnt realized you cannot trade-in a S26 for another S26 anymore this year. Is that a restriction on the phone? (So I can trade-in another phone) or it's on the line itself to limit to one trade-in?

Thanks

Does anyone have experience with trading in a different phone than what's original submitted? Do they accept your submission based on the received phone value/information or they auto deny the trade-in?

Also, the iPhone 17e is about the same price and is just another option. iPhones are more durable and last longer for seniors.

How long do I have to wait to do another trade in on the same line? The previous existing phone is then unlocked and can be moved to another carrier?

Yeah, you can order 2 (max allowance) online, then Walmart will ship them to you the next day. That was what I did 3 times ordered online for total 6 and each time Walmart delivered them the next day. For in-store trade-in: Charge it to full, remove sim card, turn it on and do all the setup until you get to the home page; then turn it off. For online trade-in: Charge it to full, remove sim card, do factory reset, turn it off before send in. For send in to Assurant, I brought only the phone to UPS and provided them with the provided barcode from the Assurant email; then UPS boxed it up and sent it in to Assurant.

For the same line, I only trade-in when the previous trade-in was completed. Each time I got S26 and activated it. I then shelved it and moved my previous Moto phone back to the line. The deal ends 21st, so you got 10 days left.

Thank you. I will follow step by step. I am doing the trade in in store. I think the 26+ will be too much for dad to learn so I will transfer him back to the A15 when i get home.
