i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.
Mine is a mobile only line no internet. I was wondering that maybe the reason.
It's random. Over the years many people have been declined in store and then successful online. I've been successful online and then failed in store before and then successful again online and then successful again in store multiple times.
Can you confirm how much you paid? Is it new or existing line
I have Spectrum internet and qualified for 1 year free line. I purchased online and it was $0 for the line and $899.99 + tax for the phone, Assurant trade in was $700 + value of the trade in that I received as credit back once trade in was processed.
In previous years I was refunded trade in value + tax but this year they do not refund the tax for mail in trade ins. If I had done it in store then I would have just paid $899.99 - $700 - value of trade in + tax on the net cost. Would have saved me nearly $100 from the taxes that Spectrum scammed me out of this year.

You will save $61 exactly in-store assuming they have instock and allow you to do trade-in.

About in-store trade-in limitation, I think they reset the counter every year because I was able to do trade-in in-store last week for S26 and last year I was denied during checkout after 3 or 4 times of trade-in in-store for S25.

I think the only benefit of opening a new line is if you are a new internet customer who adds two unlimited lines then you can potentially get additional discount. Otherwise the discounts should be the same.
You mean the additional $400 off? It's spread out over 36 months and you are forced to finance the phone to get those additional credits.
Hardly a deal anymore. I would be a new customer and have lines to port but I must be missing on the before of taking advantage of this

They stopped allowing me instore trade in after I did 4 S25 last year. I even closed my account and create a new account under P2. I open a new account with different address on my name and they still weren't allow in store trade in last week. I might be permanent banned.

Wow, I am lucky though. I am not bs at all. I was able to do trade-in in-store for S26 in the same free line that I have used for 1 year and a half already. A few weeks ago I also did trade-in in-store for 2 S26 and each in the new line.

I don't f... bs with you. It was not $61, it was only$56. I trade in Motorola g 5g 2025 in-store & online for s26 successfully. For in-store, I was charged $213.24 total and for online, I was charged $269.24 total (this included $705 promotion & device value). So the different is $56. Keep dreaming for saving $100.
I told the lady twice I wanted to pay the balance in full and she ran my card. It wasn't until I left and got the email from charter that I realized she put me on a 36 month installment.
Were you able to pay off your balance and get the credit back?
Did you have to pay tax on the total or on the net when you finance the device instore?
