i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.

Usually, your credit card will have some kind of insurance and it should be sufficient. Anyway we're going to trade in again after one year.

I think in most states if you do it in-store you are only paying tax on the total after trade-in, and if you do it online you pay the taxes on everything upfront and then it is refunded on the trade-in amount when trade-in is processed. I think there might be some exceptions to this where a few states might not have the tax exception.

The main benefit to doing it online is for credit card rewards. If you do it instore you are just charged the discounted amount. If you it online you can pay with a rewards card for the full amount (so you earn rewards on the full purchase amount) and then switch your card on the account to a debit/non-reward card and get the refund for the trade-in credit amount without losing the rewards.
Did you get your refund approved to a different card? I just tried but I'm still waiting to see if they will approve it.

I did a store trade in today on the Moto 5G 2025. I show the $705 credit, but it's saying over a 36 month installment. Anybody else have this issue?
They screwed me over too on 3/4 phones, she cost me over $150 in taxes and they wouldn't refund them even after I paid the phones off and explained what happened.

No they won't, you have to get it as a check. They said they will refund only to the same card which was used for payment

Rep told me today that "Trade-in promotional credits are applied as account credit. These credits cannot be manually refunded or transferred to the original payment method. Only regular credits (non-promotional) may be refunded to the card on file if applicable. The trade in promotional credits, cannot be transferred to your payment method. There is not an option in the system to do that."
Is that true ? Anybody got the credits to their Credit Card/original payment method ?
