I have heard of tire shops refusing to repair a tire that has had this goop applied. They say it's too hard to clean it all out and apply a permanent plug when it's all gooped up. Also it presents problems on the low noise tires that are common on EVs since they have "acoustic foam" inside that soaks up the goo, and then it's now impossible to properly balance the tire. So be aware that using this goo may make your tire hard to get repaired.

It's a fix-a-flat kit, of course it is temporary. Go to your local tire shop to get it permanently fixed for free (most places patch tires free of charge these days).

Read the description it says it's temporary, it's common sense bcuz on a tire there's no permanent fix.

I've been meaning to put some traditional string and goop kits in our vehicles for this reason. Jacking to put the spare on can be a death sentence on many of our roads. Anyone have any suggestions?

I just need them to be compact and make it 20 minutes to a parking lot. And I need 4.

Nobody is patching tires for free unless you had it installed there.

Discount Tire (America's Tire in SoCal) patches tires for free and they don't care if you bought it there. Very good company for customer service.

Big O's(used to be NTB) actually repaired mine for free. I wasn't expecting that! Also, PSA, some shops will not work on your tire if you put this stuff in it.

I have plug kits in my cars. I have used then away from home. I wouldn't want to use the tire goo but the compressor is handy. Start with just filling with air and see if the tire holds will enough to get home/to the shop.

If you can do the tire plug then the goop stuff is generally not needed. If you can't, frequent refills with the compressor might be ok if you can get the tire fixed soon. If you can't then the goop will give you more time between fill ups. I would suggest pulling the nail/screw before using the goop.

Personally I prefer to to use a patch kit. My last flat was caused by a socket extension that went in wide end first.

Get a DIY plug kit for permanent fix instead of this.

Gotcha. I already have Slime bottles and 12V compressors. I'm looking for something along these lines:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000ET9SAA

with the rubber cement, but the 9" x 5.5" single-use "carrying case" leaves a bit to be desired.

I frequently find my small tool bags of emergency supplies removed from the car they belong to, in order to fit a little bit more junk in the trunk that one time. My small tool bags are already very full, and I'm not sure about loose reamers floating around in them.

I have those exact kits in each car. I certainly prefer them to a can of fixaflat! Sounds like you are well up to dealing with the plug kit.
