Older price was $18 for a long time, $40 seems fake

I just got these this past week, mostly used for calls and running outside.
So far so good, feels like a great deal for under $20 even if you need a backup pair.
quality sound?

Does anyone know how these compare to the Baseus Bowie MC1 or Baseus Bowie MC1 Pro? I have both of those and can't tell a real difference. I got the MC1 for free from Baseus after writing a less than complementary review for another product. I like the MC1 so much I bought the MC1 Pro. This model is less than half the price of the MC1 Pro even discounted with coupons.
The BC1 are okay, but beware. For me, the bendable part of the ear buds eventually got loose from the battery module and eventually separated. It happened to me within 2 months of owning. I used them daily for outdoor runs and activity, so was frequently sweating... Anyway, I contacted Baseus support about the issue, and they sent me the MC1 as a replacement. First the build quality in the MC1 is superior, and the sound is even better than the BC1. So for me, I would only consider deals for the MC1 or higher model ear buds going forward. Regardless, I think it is worth trying out their products as the level of support provided is an extra assurance around possible defects impacting you.

I've owned all 3, the MC1 and pro are way better. the sound is a bumit better in the more expensive models. the Bluetooth connection and protocol work quite a bit better (I had some compatibility problems with BC1).

Also I had two sets of BC1 that had right side speaker failures (buzzing and low volume) at about 30 days with the BC1 the MC1 and Pro have been great.

Oh, the mic on the pro is way more usable than the BC1. I can have phone calls outside on the pro. people couldn't understand me with the BC1

These earbuds are a complete disappointment and an absolute waste of money. While they functioned fine for the first few weeks, they experienced a catastrophic failure after less than three months of light use, losing nearly 80% of their sound output. To make matters worse, this failure occurred just outside the warranty window, leaving me with essentially useless tech. Save your time and your cash—steer clear of this product at all costs.
this is what happened to me with the BC1. the MC1 and pros have worked great.

Got these back in August for $20 during a previous deal. After a month or so they would only connect as a headset (or something?) making them sound abysmal for music/etc. Support was useless, basically having me answer the same questions in a loop. After a few cycles I included answers to all the questions they ever asked in a single email and they ghosted me.On the plus side these do support multipoint connection which is nice and not ubiquitous at this price.
for what it's worth I got great customer support when I had two failures. after the second they gave me an upgrade to MC1. also when I wrote a bad review on Amazon they reached out separately and wanted to make it right.

I have these, and unfortunately I find them very uncomfortable. They begin really hurting my ears after about 10 minutes of use.
that's a bummer. ears are so weird! I find the open ears to be the most comfortable buds I've ever used. I can keep the Bc1 and MC1 on all day and kinda forget they are there.

D5CZ3QXV seems to still work, sometimes it can take a couple of tries (and if you're using the Amazon app remember to click the arrow to apply the code).

MC1 pro sound a little better but not $40-50+ better. I'd go for BC1 again but the built quality isn't as good as more expensive models.

I prefer their more expensive models for build quality.
