Screenshot the trade-in offer showing your responses to the questionnaire and the trade-in offer. Just like how my screenshots look. It all fits nicely in 1 screenshot on PC. Include the PC date and time from Start bar just in case.
I screen recorded the entire order process. However, I received an email that T-Mobile sent an adjusted trade-in quote and it said I'll receive $0.00 for my phone. So.. I cancelled the order.

What was the original trade in quote? Doesn't Tmobile always gives a $0 trade in value for broken phones? I don't think that affects the promo credit.

Personally i would prefer getting $0 trade in credit and have the entire promo spread throughout the EIP which would basically result in $0 extra per month. When you get say a initial $200 trade in credit, you get that $200 credit upfront, but then you are charged 200/24 months every month which increases your monthly bill.

Correct. I did several valid trade ins with T-Mobile and this is exactly how they do it. You receive $0 on the trade-in because the device is worthless and then the PROMOTION credit is where you receive all the money. If you were trading in a non-broken phone on a normal deal, like I did previously, I got say $150 trade-in credit and then the remaining $650 as Promotion Credit for the $800 promotion. Another phone was worth say $300, so I got $300 trade-in and $500 promotion credit.
Essentially, it's likely he just canceled his order for no reason as it was always going to be $0 trade-in credit and then the $1100 or whatever Promotion Credit.

If that is the case, I definitely misunderstood it. I was expecting $1100 promo credit over 24 months and expected the instant trade in to be $0. But it wasn't clear to me... And I don't want to jeopardize my plan with 10 lines. I can always place the order again as it does say "ANY condition trade-in" on the samsung.com site. But through T-Mobile, $1100 back is only for EM/Go5G+ plans with good condition trade-in.

It's possible I misunderstood it and what you're saying is correct. That is what I was expecting to begin with. But I received an email from T-Mobile that doesn't really specify, so I basically panic cancelled.

If you click on offer details shown on Samsung website, the "Any Condition" shows only for the Go5G Next/EB plans, which matches offer shown on T-Mobile website.

Somehow, first summary page on Samsung website is not correct as it shows "Any Condition" for the Go5G Next/EM plans. I believe the offer will be updated/revised soon.

This is tempting, I have a S23 Ultra sitting in a drawer. It is usable, but has a cracked screen. Samsung is showing $1100 tradein towards the S26 Ultra, I would only be paying $200 + tax out of pocket and that would be stretched over 24 months. That is cheaper than getting the screen replaced on the S23.
Only thing holding me back is not wanting to get locked into Tmobile for another 2 years.

Apple iPhone 17 series bought directly from Apple came out unlocked. Not sure if buying Samsung 26 from Samsung website will be unlocked too. Just a thought

Noticed this too. However, if it was set up properly, it should reject your phone when you answer the questionnaire (assuming phone is broken). But it accepts a water damage and broken screen device that doesn't turn on.

I don't think he's questioning whether the phone is locked or unlocked.. He can switch out any time, he'll just have to pay whatever balance is owed at the time of cancellation. At which point once it's paid off, the phone will be unlocked.

Yes, this was mentioned in the OP as why this is a PM. Samsung will also have to fix the trade-in tool offering the full value for broken trade-ins.

Do you have Costco? Call up the Costco T-mobile phone line and work with someone there. I was confused when I first saw the $0 trade-in too, but the representative explained it to me. Also, if you order through the Costco line, you get a $100 costco gift card and they waive the $35 activation fee. I've done multiple promos through this phone line. You just need your Costco membership ID and the IMEI of the phone you want to trade in. https://www.costco.com/t-mobile-b...wcase.html
