I'm don't care about what is in a ad but this caught my eye because it was sacks of blood. Sacks of blood of different sizes for sale. Of course I had to click on it because wtf.

Whoa. Yeah, I don't think that's an ad we'd want on our site.

Ok so since this was such an odd one, we looked further into it.

Totally get why that would make you pause the wording and imagery can definitely feel a little alarming at first glance. I know it would have given me pause if I randomly saw that anyway lol

What you're seeing isn't consumer blood sales or anything like that. "Leukopak" products are lab research materials, basically concentrated immune cells collected from consenting donors and used by medical researchers and biotech companies to study diseases and develop new therapies. The "HIV" label just means the donor was clinically confirmed HIV-positive specifically for research purposes.

That said, we completely understand how it could feel jarring to see that on the site. We'll take a closer look at how it was surfaced to make sure it aligns with our content and advertising standards.
