I think it would be a futile and boring exercise to dissect how I look at reviews. I obviously look at all the reviews, but I make a point to read the bad reviews as well. When there is a boatload of 5 star reviews and only a few 1 star and 2 star reviews, most of the time it means it's some sort of sponsored or rewarded 5 star reviews, and only the few who paid honest money and got a junk product leave a bad and honest review. You've been on SD as long as I have, we've seen how Amazon reviews have evolved. They've gone from reliable with comments to no comments, to Vine, then Vine which had to be good reviews or get booted, to the whole getting paid for good reviews or free products if you change your rating, to Ai reviews to now it's just a mess you have to somehow decipher on your own. It's sad really.

It is sad. It's gotten to the point where if I don't have time I only read the 1 and 2 star reviews. But just like you, I have been doing this enough to know how valid some of those reviews are. I also apply it to how I will use the product. For instance, in this product, I don't plan to use it as a daily driver. I have several chargers for that purpose. This will be strictly used for when I travel on a train and airplane to charge a phone or tablet. It's cheap enough that if I lose it, who cares. I would rather lose this than say my Anker charger that is much more expensive. My family has lost their fair share of chargers while traveling.
