My local HD had over 30 40v 16" stringer kit for $75 for over a month around the holidays. A bunch of them are on clearance at HD. YMMV, of course. I recently posted a deal about a $79 Ryobi 40V 9" edger kit, which comes with a 4Ah battery and charger. Search SD and you'll see other clearance deals mentioned, as well.

These comments about YMMV deals, that obviously don't pertain to most of us, are dumb. Unless I can literally go into any store right now and buy a battery for this price, then your better deal that can't be found, isn't a deal.

Your comment is dumb, not theirs. I for one appreciate the ymmv deal comments. It lets me know that better deals are possibly available to me. I've scored dozens of ymmv deals over my Slickdeals journey so I'll continue to check. I understand that ymmv deals can be an annoyance if your luck sucks and you never replicate a single deal but that's no reason to spoil it for the rest of us 😔

Comparing a deal that we all qualify for versus a deal that some qualify does not make one a better deal. Luck has actually nothing to do with it. If it was luck based that would mean every store had the same deal and you just had to get there before the next person. Hence a luck based deal. These are deals that are in Iowa at the home depot in BFE where people don't buy electric because America. To sum up. Those deals are great for some but deals like these are better for everyone.
