I don't see anything about these speakers that make them "Atmos" speakers. Any speaker is Atmos if it's wired to an Atmos channel.

That makes more sense. Ulfiring Atmos suck, but at least that would be a more fitting title.

FYI - it looks like they have electrical passthrough connections on top for these speakers:

If you are on extremely low budget, spend an extra $20 and get these: https://a.co/d/0h75p4yY

Way the hell better. Measured and reviewed here: https://www.erinsaudiocorner.com/...neumi_bs5/
Same reviewer measured these Jamo 803: https://www.erinsaudiocorner.com/...jamo_s803/

Did you follow Op's instructions and apply the coupon code (JHCE2491)? Total should be ~$105.68 with tax

Not much worse than other budget speakers.

Now as far as their sound performance, these are likely better than those Ascend 170SE that are almost 3x the cost($250).
Especially if you pair it with a low/entry budget sub like the RSL10e.

These are new and not some B stock or refurbished.

Quite the write-up by the person, I agree with his opinion. We seem to have a similar taste.

I bought jamo speakers based on some feedback here and I didn't really enjoy them either. Id go for the set he recommends for the few extra bucks.

While they don't have the atmos electrical pass through of the Jamos, wanted to echo that the Neumi Bs5 is a great sounding budget speaker. I've got 4!

I assume you meant "upfiring Atmos"? I thought that Atmost was upfiring? What's better if you already have towers for front and a center channel speaker?

Lol yes, I meant upfiring. Atmos speakers don't have to be upfiring and ideally they aren't. They're just a designated channel. Dolby has diagrams that will provide suggested placements depending on your room orientation and number of channels. I have my Atmos ceiling mounted, slightly in front and off to the side of my couch. Angled towards the couch.I've never tried upfiring Atmos speakers that were any good. Even a pair of cheap surrounds mounted on the ceiling will be leaps and bounds better than upfiring.

If you are moving to Atmos, I recommend separate speakers in the ceiling or a speaker as high as you can get on the wall. Love the sound and Atmos really brings a movie up a notch.
