You get what you pay for. 13mm is a bad thickness because it's very stiff and unforgiving. The hole at the bottom and the paddle not having an edge guard are also bad because they also make it unforgiving.

If you absolutely have to buy on a budget and are limited to Amazon, by far the best value is the Ronbus Pulsar series. It's an "old" paddle by modern standards, but it's on Amazon through a reseller for $40, which is pretty crazy considering it retailed for $180 in 2023. Specifically the R1 Pulsar. I remember winning 4.0-level tournaments and leagues with it just a few years ago.

Worked for me - 13.94 checked out after tax.
Seems pretty slick (borderline pricing/coupon mistake?) from what I can tell. I'll let the pickleball folks explain if/why I'm wrong.

It's a fine paddle for beginner to intermediate. My buddy had this. Easily better than the cheap $15 paddles at Target or bundles on Amazon.
Paddle tech is moving so quickly so if you keep playing, check out John Kew for reviews.
Good luck and enjoy.

OGJ2S3K9 should take another $24.96 off. If you're using the Amazon app remember to tap on the arrow that appears in the promo code box to apply the code (before tapping the Continue button).

Hey that is some fancy new technology by adding a cut out for less resistance, because it was so hard to swing these paddles before! 🙃

Pretty slick price though, thanks OP!

Great deal if you can get it for $14. Better than the starter packs or anything from target, Walmart, dicks etc.

Absolutely a steal compared to other beginner paddles. Getting one for family/friend borrowing.
