If I'm seeing this right, it looks like ONLY the pilot and S3E8 are 4K, is this correct? What would be the point of this? Like a teaser for 4K?

I got this as a pre-order sometime last year. Nice set, but a comical amount of disks. Like double/triple stacked on the spindles

Yes that's correct. I doubt they'll ever release a true 4K set. S3E8 is a particularly wild episode so that's why it got a 4K version, along with the pilot.

The first season and first half of the second season are absolutely incredible. They solve the main mystery halfway though the second season and it kinda meanders after that.

The third season, which came out 23 YEARS later was EXCELLENT. It's not at all what I expected and you'll be tempted to rush through it just to "get to it," but honestly it's much better enjoyed slow. Every season 3 episode ends with a band playing a song at the roadhouse, I even spent the time to enjoy that.

The very last line of the last episode of the last season still sticks with me. Chills.

This used to be in a limited edition box set which sells for $300+ used. So being able to pick this up for so cheap is a real treat.

21 discs, wow. And it doesn't include the soundtrack(s) or bootlegs of soundtracks. I'm a huge TP fan, ever since the beginning. Thanks for the post.

FWIW the packaging for this set is so bad, I'm looking into options to replace it because I'm scared I'll break a disc trying to get one out.

"The first season and first half of the second season are absolutely incredible" - Just wanted to echo this statement. Taken as a whole, it was the BEST, albeit quirky, mystery TV series of all time. No comment on this specific edition as I own the early 2000's DVD releases.
