Toto Drakes can flush the most massive of shits compared to contractor special toilets from the box stores. The coating on the ceramic is also much easier to keep clean (if you don't destroy it with abrasives).

That same attitude is the reason why I've been single so long. I do own this toilet and it is very reliable.

That's one expensive crapper... Why not just get a Toto bidet to go on top of a cheaper toilet? The bidet is where the real technology is. Toilet is basically just "plop""flush" we're done.
If you read/watch toilet reviews and tests this is not true. Flushing capability and clean flush are dramatically different.

I wonder if he have had any toilet for 15+ years and did the cleaning himself. The "ring"....

Powerful Performance with Dependable Clean.' Finally, a toilet explicitly engineered to handle the sheer volume of a Sunday night beef and broccoli feast without screaming for a plunger

serious question. I've been intrigued by these for years but the question is how nasty does the water nozzle that is in the center of the bowl get and do you have to clean it after every movement?

I've been using baby wipes for 10 years and 2-ply slightly dampened tissues for most of my adult life (the kind I used never left debris).

Also, can the seat portion be changed out or are we stuck with that monstrosity?

You are stuck with the monstrosity.

I bought it between 6-8 years ago after I vacationed in Japan a couple of trips and used their toilets. I have never look at it since it has self clean & deodorized cycle. It is still working and we don't do self clean very much anyway. Take a vacation in Japan and give it a try Smilie

The nozzle rinses itself with hypochlorous acid, which is a natural sanitizer. It usually won't be gross as long as you don't conduct any business while the nozzle is exposed. That said, it is best to manually clean the nozzle every so often.

Yes, that is correct. They did give us $100 off on two already. Thanks for pointing that out.
On another note, even decent branded non-bidet toilets going for almost three to four hundred dollars, this is a steal. Toto's are very well designed and regarded and this one from Costco comes with everything you need for installation, except the tools!

Same here. Visited Japan about three years back and saw and experienced Toto's in action. Ever since wanted one. Finally getting there.

Don't worry, eventually someone will come along with lower standards.

what about the little door where the nozzle opens from? is that kept clean? also, is there a good way to manually clean it?
