These small tubes are cost effective for small, intermittent projects since it does expire and stop curing properly after a while. Two things are your friends for caulking projects, rubbing alcohol to clean the surface and painters/masking tape for clean lines.

Great price in easy package for small job. If you have big job, not the way to go.

Does either online retailer list/guarantee the production date of the tube(s) you'll get?
I bought some caulk from Amazon before and it had a cryptic code printed on it, but no easily understood date.
That caulk didn't end up with the same quality result I've had before and I'd like to think it was old product rather than user error.

you sound like the kind of AI Amazon ought to have, with links to those additional recommended products of course.

I've used these multiple times. My best tip is to use a metal tube roller like the key tube. I used one I got free from cosmetic store, and it provides a consistent pressure application that is real smooth. Another tip is to cut a finger on a latex glove, and stretch it over the spout when done and shut the lid. It prevents it from drying out for months if not a year or more.

I've had bad luck with this stuff yellowing. The "Premier" is even worse. But no issues with the entry level GE Silicone Caulk.

Is one tube enough and easy to use (compared to the caulk gun) for doing bath tub surround re-caulk?
