Thanks for the reminder! I will make sure to wear it for a couple of weeks before putting it into storage for next year.

I have been wearing this for the past 5 years, haven't had an issue with the down coming out. Just some here and there, but all down jackets does to some point. would recommend~

Same. Bought one last year, leaked like there was no tomorrow. Also I do not agree with the notion that all down jackets leak. I have an Eddie Bauer for 3 years, have not leaked any so far.

I have the black version of this and like it for the most part. It looks great and fits snug against my body (not sloppy like a lot of people's down jackets). I think I've had it for 5+ years now at this point.

I've had the random feather or two come out every once in a while but that seems completely normal.

The major issue I had was where the insides of each sleeve got holes in them near the seams (maybe 8 or so holes in each arm where feathers would leak) because the sleeves would rub against the plastic zipper teeth if you use the jacket with the pockets unzipped. I had to buy some black patching tape and fix all 16 or so of the holes and then I have to remember to always keep the pockets zipped unless I'm actively using them. Just this last week I started noticing a ton of feathers coming out on the left side of my jacket near the very bottom. Turns out my laptop case is rubbing holes in the bottom of the jacket. I patched using smaller patches, but that only worked for a few days until my laptop case started to pull the patches off and the jacket started to leak again. This time I made a really long patch to try and keep it from tearing off. The jacket just isn't very tough.

That is disappointing! Maybe it meant to be used with a shell? Both to make it last longer and make it work in wet weather.

Just so you know, if you take your jacket to the Patagonia store, you hand it to them and they'll fix it for you (they send it to their repair center) They'll mail it back to you a month later good as NEW, for FREE! And if it's hopeless for them to fix it properly, they'll give you store credit for the value of the jacket.

My wife had a hole in her Patty sweater from the dog, and they mailed it back good as new. Same with a jacket I got impossible to remove stains on.

Literally with Patagonia, you have clothes for life!

Back to topic, all down jackets leak feathers over time. No matter the brand or how expensive you go. It is what it is. With the Patty jacket, it isn't bad at all compared to some other uber expensive famous brand down jackets I have in in my closet.

It is mostly down jackets with noticeable baffles that leak because those baffles are stitched, so the down pokes through the stitching holes. If you buy something with stitchless baffles like the Jackson Glacier from Patagonia, you'll have little to no leakage.

Correct, this is for layering. It's very lightweight so the outer layer is not thick at all. You can get away with wearing it as an outer layer for around town, but not for anything more rugged.
I love this jacket, is super warm for how light it is, I highly recommend it
