Actually I would not recommend it for gaming consoles. This is not HDMI 2.1 compliant. Which means it can't do 4K 120Hz. Gaming consoles may not render at 4K, but they do output a 4K image after upscaling, and this won't handle 'performance' mode in games that output at 120Hz. Also, many new games support 40Hz mode where the same image is repeated three times but the stream is output at 120Hz, so you get proper frame times at 40Hz (which won't be possible with a 60 Hz output).

Bottomline - avoid this for consoles. In fact this is not a good deal. I just bought an HDMI 2.1 complaint switch for $12 just yesterday (unfortunately it went up to $25 today; but it goes on sale often). 4K 60Hz switches are often $8 on Amazon -- these are simple switches so you need not worry about the brand name.

HDMI CEC allows you to control your devices with your TV remote. This switch doesn't have this.

Is this okay to switch between 2 computer inputs (one Windows and one Mac) to one monitor?
This will only handle the stream to the monitors, not any peripheral like keyboard or mouse unless the mouse and keyboard can switch themselves between computers?

What you need is call a KVM switch

This is almost identical to the Ugreen model I just bought and returned. The output and inputs are on opposite sides, so there's no clean way to add this to your desk without clutter. You either need to have cables coming out towards you and then turned back, or if you put it sideways you'll cables coming out both sides. And the switch has to be accessible to push the button on top. So it's a lot of clutter on your desk.

I ended up getting the Ugreen 3->1 switch. Don't really need the third input, but all the inputs and outputs are on the back so it's much cleaner on your desk. There's a toggle button on top of the unit. There's also a remote to directly select which input you want. I just set the remote on top of the switch and it has direct numbered buttons.

Using one of them in 2-in-1-out mode (i.e. two sources connected to same monitor), and the other in 1-in-2-out mode (same source that I switch between 2 monitors). It's been just a day of use, it seems to work quite well. Also for what it's worth the build quality is excellent with it being an all aluminum case. Also it has all ports on back which I prefer.

Yes, I use it for that and am happy. My keyboard/mouse have buttons to switch between computers. I got a short HDMI cable and this hangs right below my monitor and is easy to press.
