Hard Maple or Sugar Maple is 1450 on the Janka Scale, Bamboo is only 1380.

Anything is possible on the internet.

Any $20 cutting board is not going to be made from any exotic or crazy hard bamboo. They are going to use the cheapest, softest stuff to maximize the life of the tooling.

I bought these a few weeks ago when they were on special. Im not worried about my knives im more worried about the cutting board already having wear and tear after the first use. Can anyone recommend a better wood cutting board that will not wear out so easily? Thank you in advance

I cannot stop laughing about this argument on the hardness of bamboo vs. maple. Has to be the nerdiest thread in slick deals history 🤣

So you want a wooden cutting board that doesn't show any cut marks? Is your brain ok?

I'd only use a plastic or glass board for raw meats. Otherwise a wood board is the safest for the health of you and your knives.

No wood cutting board of any species is going to actually 'damage' your knives. Use your Steel to straighten your edge and get back to cutting.

Once a year, get your knives professionally sharpened (costs you maybe $10 ?), and you are all set.
Where are you getting your knives professionally sharpened?

I just spent a week oiling and curing my new bamboo boards with tung oil then a mix of mineral oil and beeswax. Do you have to do that will ALL bamboo (all wood?) boards or were mine just cheap? t
