The TECKNET Solar Fence Lights use a 600mAh rechargeable built-in battery (non-replaceable). While the product description and reviews confirm it is rechargeable and provides 8-12 hours of runtime, they do not specify the exact battery chemistry (e.g., lithium-ion, NiMH, etc.). Based on common solar light designs, it is likely a lithium-ion battery, but this is an inference rather than a confirmed detail. For definitive confirmation, you may want to contact the manufacturer directly. (This is from the Amazon RuFus Ai helper.)
Reason I post this is because there was a house that caught fire recently while using some lights bought on Amazon that had lithium-ion solar rechargeables batteries, though I can't say if it was these specifically, I would be very careful either way.

What's a realistic lifespan for these before they stop holding a charge and end up in the landfill? Is 2 years optimistic?

It's funny- when I was working on engineering in the 90s in college, we were basically told "Blue LEDs are nearly impossible to make." There's a problem with blue wavelength where materials able to transmit it aren't common, and the materials at the time would tend to transmit heat instead of light, so half of any blue LEDs you made wouldn't work.

Today we're like "WHAT SHADE OF BLUE YOU WANT? SOLAR POWERED? NO PROBLEM..."

It's solar and have so little energy in it. Not enough to start a fire even if they try to.
