These are "open speakers" earphones... that means no bass... so these are great for podcasts not so much for music... like every other pair of open speakers.

I have the original. While not as loud or defining as other brands, I paid $20 years ago and they were well worth the money. One thing it had that some more expensive brands lacked was a simple on-off switch. Many times I didn't want to waste the battery of the other brand but had no choice. Check and see if this model has it.
