Here's a whole bunch of words that may or may not answer that question. (JAYO has been reported to be Sunlu).

"Where is "Meta" from? The phrase "Meta" was inspired by the "Metaverse" which had been incredibly popular in recent years. We selected the first four letters of "Metaverse"-Meta as its name, aiming to address the issues of clogging and stringing from the source material, improve printing quality, and usher in a new era of PLA.

We have thereby unlocked the potential for 3D printers to operate at ascended speeds and enhanced precisions."
-Sunlu

Basically, it's a PLA that prints at a lower temperature and at faster speeds, prints are less brittle(more resistant to impact) but can stretch and deform over time when under load or at higher temperatures.

So basically rebranded Sunlu? Thanks. Looks like I'll need an adaptor made if using it with my Bambi A1 AMS.

Been using the PLA+ 2.0 HS filament for a week now and having so much trouble with stringing. No matter how I set the temps and retraction settings, I get stringing. I would not recommend the PLA+ 2.0 for now. The manufacturer doesn't even know what settings are best for this material.

Yes. I just mixed and matched a bunch of clear PETG colors. It's buy 4, get 2 free, then add a 20% coupon on top of that. I never dreamed I'd get 6 rolls of clear PETG, where I get to hand pick the colors, for $59.48 with free shipping. Now I get to experiment with all sorts of new projects--gonna start with an unobtanium tail light lens.

Pretty sure it is flat or matte rather then shiny.

Recently bought a few rolls of their PETG and PLA in red/ black, blue and white. I still havent used all of it, but I am working on it. I still have blue and white PETG left.

No issues with the spools, no tangles, and the end of the filament released fine. Also worked fine in my AMS.

However, I wasn't very happy with it compared to other filaments I have used in the past (Bambu, Creality, Overture, Inland).

The red PETG gets all washed out when printed, and prints more pink than red. The black PETG was really shiny. I mean really shiny. I didn't care for it. I also had some stringing issues with the PETG. The hygro in my AMS showed 19%, so I don't think any of it was wet.

I also had issues with the black PLA and warping. Kinda fixed that problem by boosting up the heatbed heat a little bit and closing the doors completely.

Overall, I am willing to spend a few more bucks on filament that works better for me.

i bought a bunch during one of these sales, PLA/Matte PLA/PETG... it's honestly the worst filament i've used, it strings, layer lines don't look great, bed adhesion is questionable.
i'm just using it for fit tests and other random stuff i'll just throw away right after printing.

manufactured by Sunlu, sure, but it's not just a rebrand... i've been through tons of Sunlu and it a far better product. they do something different, i assume to cut costs.
i stick with Sunlu, Eryone, Elegoo for cost effective stuff... during sales i'll pickup Polymaker and BambuLabs.

FWIW, my research suggest that Jayo and Sunlu filaments are identical. Price differences stem from demographic targeting and marketing, and mostly from packaging differences. From my experience, I haven't noticed any difference. One thought is that depending on time of year and variations in warehouse conditions, maybe you got a wetter batch of Jayo and it needs drying?
Your experience is definitely valid, but I have been unable to find any evidence that they alter the filament recipe, and there is ample evidence that they produce Jayo at the same factory on the same equipment. There are side by side printing comparisons that conclude they are identical filament.
