Gah...I want a upgraded miter saw, and this is an insane deal, but I have a small garage shop and I really wanted one of the Delta/Bosch or Metabo sliders that need WAY less clearance in the back for the sliders. The Dewalt needs SO MUCH room behind it!

Same here... It hurts to let this slide 😭
Gonna have to wait for front slider or maybe one day sucked it up and get the Bosch arm

I was considering this vs Bosch saw but was unsure of the differences other than the shadow line on this Dewalt which I really like. I have the dewalt rolling stand so don't care as much about clearance I can just move it out when I need to use it. Is the Bosch really $300 better?

Why does it say tool only when it's a corded product and wouldn't need like a battery (where I normally see tool only notifications)?

I thought the same. Maybe because it comes with no stand?!

Nope, if you're using the miter saw on a stand, the Bosch is not $300 better. I don't even think it's $50 better, this saw really is only hampered by the amount of clearance needed all around the back side of it to slide. If space is not a concern for you, buy this saw, I've had my DWS779 for a decade and it's still as good as it was the day I bought it.
