You always get what you paid for and sometimes people would rather go with a premium brand with higher quality or better experience even they will have to pay the extra money or in this case a Worse cable. I generally like anker products. But I have some long braided anker cords that various devices and wall plugs (including apple and anker) drop the charge and reconnect.

Are the cables significantly different in diameter? My USB4/thunderbolt cables are much more thick and stiff than other med-high bandwidth cables. They are much more difficult to deal with when being used outside of a dock or similar, otherwise I'd just buy all USB4/thunderbolt cables and not worry about compatibility for different devices.
