Thanks for posting! I've been looking at getting one of these jackets in black for a while. Knew it would be 50% off near summer, so waited until today.
Thanks a million for posting!

Great deal. One of the best jackets in terms of weight/warmth ratio. Not very durable, but absolutely perfect for cold commutes.

A vest is a COMPLETELY different use case from a hooded jacket?

I originally wanted a sleeved down jacket. Then thought the vest would be better for moisture management. Then realized I wanted a quilt instead of mummy bag and sleeves became very appealing again.

I owned the men's version of this and it was the perfect jacket... But within months it had pulls and the insulation in the back had shifted and flattened. I returned it and bought my first Paranoia and that's been perfect.
I liked the cut and look of REI better, but it wasn't going to hold up, even to light commute use.

Been comparing this to the Patagonia down jacket on sale in the same price range---maybe a bit more money. Most reviews online favor the Patagonia. I think it's on sale for about $139.

They are different jackets with different features and use cases. Hood (REI) vs. no hood (Patagonia), lighter (REI) vs. heavier (Patagonia), quality of down (850fp REI vs. 800fp Patagonia), packable size, etc. One also is for more technical uses (REI) than the other (Patagonia). It depends on what you want and need and how it will be used. When I looked at the reviews for the Patagonia jacket, many complained about leaking feathers which is a concern.

About 12.5 oz total weight.

how does the lack of durability manifest itself? holes in the material? threads coming loose? leaking down feathers?

Anyone know how it compares to the Decathlon MT100 (which is cheaper at MSRP)?

It's just the tradeoff of light and thin vs something more structured and durable. For instance, I wouldn't wear this jacket in the woods as I wouldn't want to risk snagging on a branch. No regular wear durability issues so far for me.
