Is the physical SIM preloaded? Do I have to register an account to activate?

Not bad, wish $10 was normal for 5GB plan. It seems $15 is the standard rate for the plan. One can keep switching when there are good deals!

If the sale is still active at Best Buy, go that route

Is international texting included in the plan, or do we need to add international roaming?

It's been a month since I switched to Mint and I have no complaints! The service is great and the switch was easy!

To put things in perspective.... the half price sale JUST ended... but it offered $180 for the year that is $15/mnth for 50GB (unlimited), 20GB hotspot

So that is $10 for 5GB or $15 for $50GB plus hot spot of 20GB (comes out of your 50).

Do you happen to know how often that comes around? I seem to recall I purchased a previous 1/2 off deal around the May timeframe, so a bit surprised that it already passed...

The deal still kind of exists... you need to get a phone for a dollar but you need to pay taxes on the full retail value. A16 for a dollar or A17 for twenty dollars.

It will take several hours of frustrating effort to port your number out of Mint Mobile. They make it extra easy to join but extremely difficult to get your account number and pin to port out. Be prepared to pay extra for "Premium support" to actually get any kind of support
