I remember McDonald's hamburgers and cheeseburgers costing $0.29 and $0.39 respectively on certain days of the week back in the mid to late 90's. So one doesn't have to be that old to recall when fast food was dirt cheap.

You're a bit off on the price. Hamburgers/cheeseburgers were $0.29 and $0.39 on those days. Ran through from the mid 90's into 2001.
