I think it depends on your location on how effective it will be. The more android users around, the better it will track. Where we live, my Smarttags track better than my wife's airtags (have both on my kids knapsacks). A benefit of the Smarttag vs Airtag is you can also view location history, which I don't think you can do on the Airtag (at least I didn't see how).

I agree as someone switched to Samsung this year. As a safety measure, it won't give you precise location of a tag if the source of location is other people's phones. That alone reduces its usefulness. I used to use my airtag to find my car in a giant Costco parking lot without honking it but now I cannot. It only tells me that it is in the parking lot area, and I know I didn't forget my car home coming to Costco.

Besides that, it is fine. Reminds me of my keychain when I leave it behind.

Also supposedly it has a button that helps you ring your phone to find it easier. Could not get it to works despite spending days to try and figure out.

Half baked product at best, but can't use an airtag with Samsung, right?

Someone was ripping you off, then. Tile premium is $30 a year and not necessary for basic functionality. The only benefits are leave behind alerts, reimbursement for lost tiles, and 30 day location history.

Reality of a cheating female spouse is, if she wanted to get caught, you will find out. If she doesn't, she will park at work and take an Uber or Lyft her lover ordered for her. Now track that! You get the mortgage, car pmt, insurance and maintenance, and he gets the relief and pleasure. Oh and he thanks you for the trackers that fool you into thinking you know what's happening.
