Seems like a decent computer for a student. Looking for a touch screen laptop with decent specs around $300 for elementary/middle scool student. Any objections on anything other than soldered memory?

Decent for what?It's 2026. Windows eat 5gb of your ram and that damn machine won't even get along with Google Chrome with 5 pages. If you are ok with 8gb you are better to get a $100+ laptop with n150.

I know RAM is every expensive in 2026. Companies are trying to cut corner by making new laptop with a max RAM of 8G.
It is hard to believe. 16G should be minimum. If you spend time to search for "open box" laptops, you will see plenty of 8G RAM laptops (with no expansion option) available. People can't use them and return them.
