Can you hear podcasts well in the shower? Sometimes I have to blast the volume on a speaker depending on the sound quality which can be annoying

Think you wouldn't want more bass. You will need more treble (higher frequency). Podcast would benefit more from a "tweeter" speaker for clarity.
