why this versus the multitool? I have the dewalt cordless mt and it's been good so far, though a lot of dust like everything else to do with drywall

If you do installs for a living, this is much faster. For the average user it is never worth it over the oscillating multitool. It is much easier to mess up and make bad cuts with this.

The guard tip helps keep your cut from angling out too, if it stays 90 degrees it's easier to patch back together
