Home Depot has the Bosch 12" Dual Bevel Miter Saw currently listed as Deal of the Day. This saw features the Axial-Glide arm system that allows wider cross cuts and better alignment. The 12 in. Dual-Bevel Glide Miter Saw features the smooth cutting motion, accurate performance and space-saving design of Bosch's patented Axial-Glide System. For all those times you'll need to cut a 6x6 but have zero clearance behind your saw....
All kidding aside this is an impressive saw. People will naturally complain about drift and blade deflection, or dust collection. Both can be valid, but user error and experience will mitigate the first issue. 3d printing yourself a better dust chute will help with the 2nd issue.
Great saw and even better if you have limited shop space. This doesn't take up nearly as much space as a sliding saw that's on rails like the dewalt. Save a ton of back space and can sit this right up to the wall. I Think i paid like $500 for it years ago.
Rare deal on a great saw. Have this saw and at this price trying to rationalize having two of them. Maybe one on miter station and one portable? Done.
OOS. Saved me from myself.

The first two issues seem to be much less pronounced on this model than any other 12" SCMS I've used, but still not on par with a quality (DeWalt or Rockwell) vintage radial arm saw. Agree on dust collection, although I haven't bothered with printing a better chute, since I mostly use it outdoors.
Incredible deal but it's not showing any available for in-store pickup and it's charging $35.00 for delivery. Not that $35.00 is a lot but it's definitely not FREE like listed in the deal.

Ha! Same here. I had an angel over my shoulder telling me that I have a perfectly fine DWS779 at home. But the devil on my other shoulder says this saw would take up less real estate.
I know it's OOS but any owners of this saw who can recommend highly vs. Dewalt 780? I like the 780's shadow line (I know Bosch can be added but PITA) and I'm going to put my shop saw (whatever I buy) on the Dewalt rolling stand anyway so clearance behind not a huge deal.

If your just going to keep it on the Dewalt rolling stand, I would just stick with the Dewalt 780. I have the 780 currently and previously had this Bosch saw. I bought it because my goal was to put it against the wall of my garage and leave it there but that never materialized so I ended up selling it and getting the 780, which is what I had previously to the Bosch saw, as well. They both cut about the same, accuracy-wise, but that shadow line really comes in handy. And the Bosch is soooo damn heavy to move, even with the stand (I use the Bosch gravity stand).
Whatever option you do go with, just get a good miter saw blade. I lived with a crap blade for too long and finally bought a Forrest Chopmaster and I'm blown away with how clean and effortless the cuts are.

I have had this saw for about 2 years now. I was one of the lucky ones that was able to procure one from Lowe's when it was, somehow, priced at 50% off/$325 for a very short time. It's been a good saw, but I probably haven't put it through its paces like some of the folks on here do. It is a heavy saw and I would never consider it for anything other than permanently in a shop. I bought the dust collector apparatus from MechWorks3D on Etsy and it makes a saw that is HORRIBLE at OEM dust collection into a pure joy to use. I have it hooked into a single older shopvac and it easily get 98% of the sawdust - which I am still mind-boggled about. Anybody on the fence about this saw should consider it at the $409 price for sure.
