pre-LED, streamlight bodies like this were indestructible and the way to go. Probably still the case, but I prefer rechargables. May still pick this up just to have around, because who doesn't need 30 flashlights.

They're still pretty indestructible, particularly their WMLs.

This is like buying a regular flip phone for the price of an iPhone.

It seems quite expensive for the feature it has. For this price i can get a decent led light from Costco or home depot that are brighter with both regular aa and rechargeable options. They are also aluminum and have quality similar to maglite.

The reason the price is so high and specs are low is because this isn't really meant to be a normal flashlight, the point is to be a Certified Class I Div 1 light. Meaning it cannot cause a fire or explosion in an environment with hazardous gasses or similar. It's still a very sturdy light, and rock solid reliable, but you're paying for the certification. Streamlight is great overall, but if you just want a AAA pocket light there are better options.

This. These are used by utility crews and emergency response for this reason. They are also indestructible. You're paying a premium for that so if you're looking for value and aren't in need of those two factors you should move on.

So it's an ignition protected flashlight? I never knew such a thing existed.
