Main drawback: you gots ta wait for it to arrive. AE is saying up to 23 days, lol...is that worth the $90 savings for YOU?

you'll need to still have an amp if you want to use this btw. I went with a regular wiim amp as it was $230ish back on a previous deal and still has most features other than the missing screen. The screen would be cool to have, but didn't want to also have to invest in an amplifier back when I made the purchase and add another $100 cost. At $240 (or less with coupon) it's well worth it if you're fine with not having a warranty imo.

Definitely should be wary of AliExpress sellers, but the name isn't a red flag. They can't use the trademarked product name because they are not authorized to distribute in North America.

So they always use a generic wink-wink nudge-nudge name, even when it's a legitimate product.
Still rolling the dice with this, but the naming thing is par for the course.

I did. Ordered from Family Furniture Store. I asked them if it was a Wiim ultra since it only said ultra. said it was to ship in April. Surprise, it arrived from Amazon this week. It was a new, sealed Wiim Ultra and worked perfectly. Pleasantly surprised. The internal DAC is a newer ESS version and it sounds a tad warm, the first ESS chip that sounds warm. I had a Wiim Pro before and just used digital out to my DAC amp. This ultra sounds better with analog out to my amp using the ultra DAC chip. So pretty decent deal. For about $50 more than a wiim pro +, you get a nice display, excellent DAC, subwoofer control and decent internal power supply. Well worth it.

These things must be cheap to build in China!
