T-Mobile 30 day eSIM Trial on T-Life App you can port it out for free. I got 4 phones to use on trials from Straight Talk/Total Wireless deals unlocked in last 3 years.

After get Free Trial Number create a T-Mobile ID: Use the T-Mobile website to link your trial number to a email/profile.

Locate Account Info: Your account number in the "Account Summary" section of the online portal. Generate a Port PIN: Under Settings in Profile

For Chrome, open incognito page, chose I need a new number, chose $55 plan, enter your zip, hit get new number, hoover your mouse to the top right area near the X then message for coupon will pop up, works for me every time. These $25 off coupon works for only new customer, won't work for existing customer option. I can give you a code if you can't generate one.

Also, I checked with Cricket Wireless corporate and customer support, whom themselves said you can still do this to the $40 plan. Not sure who told you it can no longer be an plied to a line/account becsuse as they (Cricket Wireless) said they are curious where you got this information . If i'm an existing customer (line1) and get this iphone 16e (line2) deal. If i want the iphone 16e deal just as an ipod (no cell service after 1st month of $30), can i select to just pay for my existing line1 and not pay for this new line2 (iphone 16e)?

Have cancel the line or port it out. If plan to keep your main service. They keep billing all lines combined.

IDK an easy way, but I tried to port out a number. You'll still have the slot used for the ongoing month (e.g., you can't buy #6 for the price of #3 if you have only two lines left), but the price for the next month was recalculated.
According to Gemini, the number of lines will not just reset to the actual number next month, but you may also see a prorated price (unused days will be converted to $$ and reduce the next month's payment for the lines you keep). I didn't try the full path though.

You used to be able to downgrade from the $60/month plan to the $40/month plan immediately after activating, which turned the 2 months prepaid into 3 months prepaid. That's what the person you responded to was talking about.

Yes, during order placement, you can provide one account/pin but soon they will shoot an email to you asking for account number for the 2nd port-in and then another email asking for PIN of 2nd port-in number.
So yes you can go with two different port-in accounts.
Once you placed the order, you can also check on their port status page, it will show if any additional details are needed so update your details for the 2nd number.

If you did not opt in autopay they won't charge you. You can check it in your account setting and make sure it is off before you do trade in
