Your Cricket service is attached to a sim card (physical or esim) and your Android phone is attached to your Google account

Transfer your esim to another phone so your Cricket service is no longer on that Stylus (use online chat) -- delete the inactive esim from old phone after the new phone is good to go with Cricket service
Thanks. Figured it'd require online chat with a rep ... had some issues with that previously and had to resort to iphone to iphone instead to bypass them. But I can try it if need be.

If the phone was eligible for 6mo unlock then you might want to unlock it before doing any of the other stuff: https://www.cricketwireless.com/s...ice-unlock
Thought it was 2 months? Got a reference?

Click the link -- Cricket was always 6mo usage for device unlock

Tracfone/Total/Verizon was 2mo but they got approval from FCC for 12mo unlock -- Metro is also 12mo unlock

Is there a way to transfer the esim/service to another phone if you already traded in the iphone?
Yes, use chat and ask for "agent".

I just went to a Apple Store to use my $310 gift cards and they kept getting declined. As each gift card was entered by the employee, it would show the $310 being applied. When the final gift card was applied, it would say the transaction was declined. The store employee said the gift cards were flagged as fraud and told me to call Apple Support. Apple Support said the gift cards were locked before they were activated with the $310 and transferred me to the store where I traded in the phones. The store claimed everything was fine but the gift cards still don't work.Looking at this and the "unauthorized modification" issue that others had, Apple and their stores seem to be running some scam.
It's not a scam. Cricket found out what people were doing and started flagging phones. It's not a coincidence this late in the game that the phone counts started getting bigger and bigger as being flagged or deemed altered in some way.

There is a thread by an employee or says to be talking about it on the cricketwireless subreddit. It would explain a lot because phones being brand new and being rejected for trade in is not that common.

Now this gift card thing is new and unexpected. That really sucks.

I am not making anything up. There are many threads on Reddit and Apple's own support forums about issues like this. The issue can happen even with gift cards that you purchase directly, without trade ins.

How many cards did you get? I wonder if there is a certain amount and then they get suspicious. I'd assume a handful would be fine... not sure about like 10+ cards...
I only did 3 cards

wow it keeps getting worse

can you add the cards to your apple wallet?
I have not tried adding them to my apple wallet, I have read some stories on Reddit of accounts being locked after adding large gift card balances so I am scared to try

See these posts on Apple forums about the same issue:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/253853192
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/255394387
I have the same issue and get the same error message when placing a pickup order. The gift cards are flagged as fraud and looks like it is a royal pain to get it fixed.

I get that gift cards sometimes have issues. I don't believe Apple stores are running a scam with their gift cards though. And I don't believe the gift card issue has anything to do with Cricket trade-ins.
