How did that work? I checked with 2 stores ansd they said it will be $25 activation per line + Taxes on MSRP per phone + $95. The total cost was over $340.
Called 4 stores, 2 had their numbers not in service, 2 gave me similar quotes, they can't waive the activation and taxes, that kills the deal. So very YMMV.

What does the deal turn out to be with taxes and activation?
Fwiw I was also told at cricket there would be activation fee per line but then at checkout some code was auto applied, elminating the activation fees.

taxes depend on the state, for me it's $60/phone, activation is $50 for multi-line.

YMMV on the Total Wireless in-store promotions. First store rep quoted me $600 for 4 iPhone 13. Because they only had 3 in stock they were willing to give me an iPhone 14 with the 3 iPhone 13 for $600. When I asked about the iPhone 16e I was quoted $1060 for 4 lines. When I declined they kept asking for my budget so they are clearly imposing their own fees.

Second store turned out a little better. I was quoted $450 for 4 iPhone 13. I also inquired about the 16e but didn't receive a quote because they only had 2 in stock. They did offer me 2 iPhone 16e and 2 iPhone 13 for $75 more ($525) which also included a free tablet and insurance for the 4 phones + tablet for the first month which I caved. With Apple trade in that comes to $310x2 + $195x2 = $1010 - $525 - $60 (cost of 4 boost lines) = $425 net which isn't too bad considering target or Best Buy deals of paying $100 in Apple gift cards to receive $10 or $15 GC.

Went to 2 stories, they are pushing for 4 months service and extras charges. One was willing to do or 3 months for a total around $400 odds. I backed out.

Yeah not too bad, but still a risk as the gcs are not a guarantee esp now that Unauthorized Mod results are frequent. In that situation one could still go to gamestop to prevent any losses other than a bunch of time.

When to a total wireless store all i can say is I feel dirty after dealing with the commission mongers it was like buying a car. I left the store with 2 phones only to find that they added 16 bucks in protection plan fees that they did not ask for my approval and added a bring your own line that i did not request or authorize to pump up there commission. Contacted TW customer support and reported the fraud they refunded me $75 for their BS. I will never step foot in one of their stores again. I have to take a shower to wash the grime off that I picked up at their store. I hope i didn't catch anything.

They keep them for 60 days but you have to have access to your account to generate a new pin every 5 days…if my memory is correct I guess you could call to have them generate one for you but the you need a one time code sent to a phone on your account. I would think it would be easier to just let it go, park it somewhere else for like $15 bucks, or port out to helium's free plan. If you haven't abused them too much they will let you port back in. I done them all I am over it and my experience at the TW store has showed me it time to move on. Thanks OP it was a wild ride.

That's how I felt after visiting Cricket stores.

Most of them felt like used car dealerships staffed by people who just got out of prison. Or belonged in prison. I'm sort of shocked how these places stay in business or why anyone shops at them (besides finding deals).

You got phones from TW? Was it a success at least for those two phones you got?

It is hard to imagine how they actually make any money. I wonder what the store franchise pricing structure is. Highly likely they're money laundering fronts, basically.

Mostly all MVNO are like that. They all run a different game. I had a decent experience at a Total Wireless when buying a galaxy device in store. The difference is that it was a manager handling the transaction. I declined services and he said okay and moved on. No pushing or cramming crap on my line. He also gave me the exact promo found online.

Got a store manager who was willing to do with just one month plan for 4 phone or $95 plan and $50 activation, but was limiting 1 phone for each model. Charging over $150 on tax for 4 phones based on retail price. I did not wanted to stuck with 2 Andriod locked phones, so I passed

Not sure how their systems allow them to manipulate to charge taxes, some stories (Cricket) are charging tax on promotional value only whereas some on retail value (cricket, total) in same state.

Are you sure you got 2 16e for $75? 16e are $99.99 each or finance.
Is free tablet a criket promo or store specific one? One store offered me free cases and a speaker, but I guess that's store specific one.
