RSL has just introduced a permanent "Encore Store" similar to SVS's "Outlet" to sell open-box and B-stock items at reduced prices---both their award-winning subs and speakers, with some of THE best price-to-performance in the industry!"This subwoofer is likely the best deal going today. The output capability, DSP features and overall performance are all at the top of the pack." ~ from this Klippel measurements-based review: https://www.erinsaudiocorner.com/...oofer_12s/

They're sold out & I would point out, in case this is a blind buy:

"All Encore Store sales are final and not eligible for return or in-home trial"

Yep, and even at regular prices RSL blows SVS/REL out of the water in price to performance, easily. Only the SVS shills and fanboys would disagree 😆😆😆

You have to keep checking back periodically, same as the SVS Outlet: deals come and go. Though to be honest, these are mostly not huge discounts, so if I were in the market for a sub and didn't want to wait, I'd just order new because even at full price you are getting excellent bang for the buck unlike companies that deliberately over-inflate MSRP so that they can APPEAR to be offering big "discounts" when in fact their "sale" prices are basically just fair market value (e.g. KEF, Polk, SVS, etc.).

On a budget, they say you're better off just going with the 10.
People often say it's price to performance is thee best since it competes with $3k speakers!
Thats with just $400 bookshelves or even a center!

They say it's just marketing & a cash grab!

You at least get to return it, unlike these sales.

I used to own some svs subs . They are good. I bought mine before they became overpriced. Paid under $2K for PB16 ultra. RSL hits the value sweet spot.

Dang, that PB16 Ultra is now a whopping $3K...ouch! Yeah I'd spend that $3K on a PSA sub these days instead.

People say that SVS is for suckers. Is that really true???

Not true at all. Svs makes excellent quality subs especially the 16 & 17' but they are pricey. the app is great and is a determining factor for some that need that level of control.
Btw founder of psa was also one of the founders of svs. So that alone should let know each makes quality subs.

Tom Vodhanel was the "V" in SVS, yes. He left because the company was going all-in on ruthless marketing/sales gaming not pure performance dollar-to-dollar, which is what PSA does. That's why a $3K PSA sub would lay waste to a $3K SVS sub. No comparison. SVS offers decent price to performance maybe once or twice year (usually around Black Friday) when they have sales in the "Outlet" section of their website, often bringing back long-discontinued models such as the PB12/SB12.

Sadly, the market rewards marketing slickness. Which explains why SVS today has far larger market share than PSA, Hsu, Rythmik, etc. Gotta give credit where credit is due: they are marketing geniuses!

I ordered a psa and a svs and tested them side by side. They are both monsters. I ultimately went with the svs because of the app control. When playing movies there is no one prrfect setting and leave for me. I am constantly adjusting levels based on the movie i am watching. The svs is fantastic for this although it is still overkill for most movies.
