The HD600 is a classic open back wired headphone best known for neutral, mid focused sound, natural timbre, and a more airy presentation than the HD650 or HD6XX. It handles vocals, jazz, rock, and classical especially well, with a bigger soundstage and strong detail for the price. The main caveats are its bass light tuning, limited forgiveness with poor recordings, and the need for a decent headphone amp to get the most out of its 300 ohm drivers. A solid fit if you want a reference style listen rather than heavy bass.

These are cheaper at $224.99 if you buy Renewed on Amazon https://a.co/d/0fF7QyLv
Got them refurbished straight from Sennheiser for $229.95 minus some cashback. They came in the original box, basically brand new. There was no sign that these were used or refurbished at all. When I got the refurbished M4 from them, they came in the original box too and everything had that brand new scent but they were clearly marked as refurbished. The HD600 weren't.

On a side note, the HD600 have an extremely natural sound profile. Really makes me appreciate what a great collab the Drop/Sennheiser HD6XX are. The HD6XX are a great balance between the HD650 and the HD600.

If they're not leather ear cups, then you're getting BPA and BPS to the DOME with these for ~$265

I'm a bit surprised if they were still selling for a MSRP of around $500. It's been a very long time since this model was just behind the then flagship HD650. One of their biggest competitors at the time, the Beyerdynamic DT880, can be easily found under $200 nowadays.

Drop HD6XX (pretty much same as Sennheiser HD650) sound awful to my ears.
These Sennheiser HD600 sound amazing and is high end beautiful sound.
This headphone will sound great from the highly recommended $1,200 Quicksilver Headphone Amp.
If you don't want to spend that much on a headphone amp, just get a cheaper Output Transformer-Less type of tube amp such as the Little Dot mkIII for $300. Or, if you want a cheap solid state, go with a used Schiit Jotunheim 2 or used Questyle CMA Twelve dac/amp.

Was wondering why they had sales that brought it even cheaper. Which is when i picked up the 6XX.

Compared to regular Sennheiser, The Drop release uses way more budget plastic. While the drivers might be the same as a HD650 as people claim. Other than the Pads used. Everything is as cheap as possible.

I have a HD600 from a decade ago and they sound completely different. I only picked up the 6XX because i sold myself i could strip the pads and headband to replace the worn out ones from my older unit in a worst case scenario.

I know there are differences between the 650 and 600 but if I have the 6XX (Drop Headphones) is it worth picking up the 600? Are they different enough?

I've owned the 598, 600, 650 and 660S. I never loved the 650 ( roughly the same as the 6XX ) because it was too warm. Like someone poured warm syrup all over the music. The 600 was my favorite of the series. They are different enough to own both.

Still own a decade old pair of 595's that are still going strong. Is it worth it to jump into the 600s?

Looking for an opinion of an audiophile. Currently I have the Arctis Nova Pro 2 Wireless and although i love them for sound quality, the sound cancellation is such that i could have someone standing in the door to my room talking to me and I cannot hear unless they speak loudly. I would like to try an open-ear headset and feel these would be a quality set to try out without sacrificing sound quality. I know these are wired but I don't really need wireless at my desk. Any opinions on the two? Much appreciated!

I see these on sale once a year, but I've always been hesitant or on the fence to buy one since I currently own the HD 595 and the HD 599 SE and I'm not sure how much better the HD 600 fares against them since the HD 600 costs more than twice what I paid for each of them.
hd 600 - hd 599 = less than 1% better 🤣
599 are bass canons, way more so then the Phillips X2HR. hd 600's are a a classic and known for mids but bass lite. I tone down the bass in a lot of my applications so worth it for me.

Pulled the trigger on these after I found the 560s to be too uncomfortable. No regrets, these sound great.
