Lower end DCF913, not the better DCF923.
Not necessarily a bad (and a pretty good price), just be aware that this isn't the atomic version

If I already have a 1/4" and a 1/2" Dewalt impact wrenches, why would I need a 3/8" impact wrench? Just wondering

This. I already have the (better) 923 so I would not buy this myself, but here is a comparison:

The DeWalt DCF923 (Atomic series) is the more powerful and feature-rich upgrade over the DCF913. Despite being slightly smaller, the DCF923 offers higher torque and more control modes.

DeWalt DCF913
Max Tightening Torque: 250 ft-lbs
Max Breakaway Torque: 400 ft-lbs

DeWalt DCF923 (Atomic)
Max Tightening Torque: 300 ft-lbs
Max Breakaway Torque: 450 ft-lbs
  • Performance: The DCF923 provides about 20% more fastening power and 50 extra foot-pounds of "nut-busting" breakaway torque compared to the DCF913.
  • Control Modes: * DCF923: Features 4 speed settings, including Precision Wrench™ (prevents overtightening and fastener run-off) and Timber Screw™ mode.
    • DCF913: Has a standard variable speed trigger but lacks the multi-mode selection found on the Atomic model.
  • Size: The DCF923 is slightly more compact, with a head length of roughly 5 inches, making it better for tight engine bays compared to the ~5.2-inch DCF913.
  • Retailer Availability: You will often find the DCF913 at Lowe's, while the DCF923 is a staple of the "Atomic" line typically found at Home Depot and specialized tool retailers.
Bottom Line: If the price difference is small, the DCF923 is the better buy due to its superior torque-to-size ratio and the added versatility of the 4-mode select switch.

Depends. Do you have the compact 1/2" or like a 1/2" mid torque or high torque? For me preferably i dont see the reason for a compact 1/2". 3/8" makes more sense for profile and shorter sockets in general and the torque range makes more sense in 3/8". Now that being said this isnt bad but the atomic version is the better compact impact
