Is it worth getting this and downgrading from slightly better picture quality of my LGCX 77 inch OLED for my Home Theater? This is pretty much projector size at my seating distance of only 8 feet away... insane how TVs are one of the few commodities that continuously get cheaper and simultaneously bigger/better

Helllllllllll no, don't switch off OLED.

How much do you value black levels and contrast? Do you watch a lot in the dark or is it usually in a bright room? I haven't read any reviews but I doubt this would get near the black levels of an OLED panel. Personally I don't like seeing blooming around bright objects on a dark background that usually comes with led, mini or otherwise. If you usually watch sports or similarly "bright" programming maybe it won't make that big of a difference if you move off of OLED.

You will see significant inferior performance. Very noticeable.
I would prefer the $1499 TCL 100 inch in Costco than this U6.

"Slightly better picture"... Dude. Your CX does not have "slightly" better picture. It has significantly better picture. I have a 65" C2, but I would rather have a 48" B2 over this. OLED is in a league of its own. Not to mention the Hisense U6 is a big step down from the U7 and U8. There's a reason this is so cheap.

While I agree that the U6 would be a huge downgrade over an LG OLED, the better mini-LED TV's (not the U6) are getting pretty close in picture quality. I have a QD-OLED gaming monitor and a QD-OLED TV in one of my rooms. My TCL QM7 and QM8 look nearly as good as the QD-OLED's while getting MUCH brighter. HDR "pops" even better due to that massive increase in brightness. That brightness is unnecessary for a pitch black home theater, but I much prefer the QM8 in my living room to any OLED.

with my old eyes I would much rather have size than contrast. it really depends on your personal preferences and viewing environment.

U6 is much better than qd7. Also it has the 5 year warranty.

This is my personal opinion. I got a samsung s90f 77 inch . Returned it and got this monster. I didnt feel I'm loosing much. I also paired the hisense with an apple tv. I dont want to deal with fire tv's crappy os nor Hisense's AI upscaling. Since you mentioned it will be in the home theater, you wouldn't have to worry about viewing angles or washed out colors.

I have to agree. This biggest advantage OLED has over miniLED is black levels and viewing angles. I would take a 100" minLED over a 65" or 77" OLED for my setup.
