There are 8 port "easy smart managed" switches from TP-Link and Netgear, often on sale for around $24, that don't require cloud management and can be managed on local web interfaces. I'm not sure why this device keeps getting posted.

this.
I bought one of these a few years ago not realizing that you had to use their stupid cloud bullshit. it's one thing to have rudamentary settings backed up in a cloud, but it's another to require the administration to be done through it. total invasion of privacy, opens up the door to a lot of potential security risks that are totally unnecessary for the residential consumer, etc. get this product off this site.
I wouldn't use this. I think this is a product that maybe discontinued a year from now and I doubt support will be there. Not only is the US looking to shut out TP Link this product doesn't appeal to IT people as it requires cloud usage through their servers. It might appeal to more base level users but they wouldn't buy it or have a need for it anyways. A strange product.
Hmm set my managed network settings on TP-Link/Netgears cloud servers...in China. Nah Im good. I think they manufacture this stuff on the off chance that some government entity will purchase and use this in their network and give some US adversary a backdoor....blah blah blah.

Feels like they're clearing out this line (Festa). Omada is much better.
There has been a few good deals recently but they all have the same issue, Cloud-only management.
