How do they compare to Wyze or Eufy? I've been a fan of Kasa but haven't tried Tapo yet and considering swapping everything out and unifying under 1 platform.
I've been testing out Tapo cams coming from Eufy and so far the motion/object detection is much better, and I can exclude areas from detection so I don't get 100 notifications of a "human" that is actually a shrub in certain light vs Eufy where the "activity zones" don't seem to do anything. And the box it puts around the motion detected is handy, so I'm not watching the whole clip to see that it detected a tree branch swaying and that's why it triggered (not all cams have this, I think mostly newer models maybe 2K and later). I haven't missed the thumbnails as much since half the time you can't see what's triggering in the Eufy thumbnail anyway. Oh and night time video is much brighter and clearer which is super handy too.
I don't know why they are not making ones with Ethernet anymore I had like 10 Tapo cam but the only one's that works right away are the one connected to Ethernet rest of them sucks so I removed them.
We only own wired cameras, in our town there have been recent burglaries where they use WiFi jammers to take cameras offline

I switched from Wyze. Biggest thing is that you don't have to pay a subscription fee for identification features and notifications. The other thing is that TP-Link / Kasa / Tapo hasn't had any highly public issues with security or general gaffes/"whoops, we're sorry that happened" incidents.

I'm not a bot wcs, just a human who was trying to make the title shorter & didn't realize I was leaving out key info lol. Updated title!
Sorry - I assumed it was a bot because it looks like scraped info. Again I do not see 24/7 recording mentioned at all in the amazon listing or on Tapo's site?

Modifications and Bug Fixes:
1. Enhanced the stability of 24/7 capture feature.
2. Optimized the device performance.
also in the app ? Inside the Tapo App
Since this is a software-enabled feature, the most detailed "manual" is actually inside the app once the camera is synced

Thanks SpaceCallahan. Yes, it's not super obvious on the Amazon link. It's also mentioned in this YouTube review at ~2 min mark: youtube.com/watch?t=120&v=56yP42EtB8c&feature=youtu.be
I almost ordered 4 of these, until I read the 2 cameras don't work together. One would think that the stationary camera would trigger the moving camera and increase the FOV. It doesn't. The moving camera only moves and zooms it it detects a moving object/subject. For me that's a deal breaker. If they worked together, which wouldn't be very difficult, that would be a great product.

idk why we dont make these run on POE even. Power over ethernet can deliver a ton of power.
